[Grammar] Where to put "there" in a sentence?

Is it always better to put "there" at the end of a sentence?
You can buy books and clothes there.
I bought a pair of jeans there.

Can I put 'there' after 'buy'?
You can buy there books and clothes.
I bought there a pair of jeans.

:up: But, returning to the OP, you could move the 'there'. But 'There I bought a pair of jeans' sounds rather quaint; you get this sort of inversion in some poetry: 'There I met an old man clothéd all in leather...'. Nowadays you would introduce some indirection: 'It was there that I bought a pair of jeans' or even, in a very formal register, 'There it was that I purchased a bowler hat' ('jeans' don't suit that register ;-))
