    English Sentence...

    Hello,

I have a question about English grammar. Can you kindly let me know which sentence is correct, if any?

I think it is best if I pass this time so another person who might be better qualified to take the position.

    Thank you

    Re: English Sentence...

    Welcome to the forums.

Neither is correct. Consider the following:

'I think it would be best if I declined the position this time so that someone better qualified could take it'.

Please note that a better title would have been
    I think it is best.

    Extract from the Posting Guidelines:
