My daughter asked some questions of me.

What do you think is the difference between 1 and 2? I think 1 means "My daughter asked me some questions", the questioned being me, while 2 means "My daughter asked some questions about myself.", right?

As an NES but not a teacher, they would mean, to me:

    1. She asked me the questions
    2. She asked someone else the questions on my behslf.

Re: My daughter asked some questions of me.

Thanks. Okay, I have long been mistaken about the interpretation "My daughter asked some questions for me" means "about myself".
So can "for me" never mean "about myself" in whatever context?

I wouldn't say 'never', but I can't think of a context when 'for me' means 'about myself'.
