At the beginning of the play, Act1, Scene1, Romeo is blindly in love with a woman who wanted to stay chaste called Rosaline. As the play developed further in Act2, Scene2, Romeo found his true love, Juliet. These two star-crossed lovers came from two families, Montagues and Capulets, which are at war. Their love was destined for destruction because of the hatred between their two families. Therefore the theme of love is such an important theme in Shakespeare’s play.
