    Talking 35-besides???

    Dear all

    Hello

What does (besides) mean in the following example? Does it mean (as much as) or (nearly the same but a little less than)?

"Besides Betty, Jane is the most important person in my life."

In the above sentence, who is more important? Betty or Jane?

    Thanks a million

    Matilda

"Besides Betty, Jane is the most important person in my life."
I think in this sentence,"besides" here means "as much as" so both Betty and Jane are important.

Just my 2 cents, correct me if I was wrong
