    segue , inebriated ellipses...?

"At this point in my memory, time breaks up into fragments. There was a segue that revealed itself as one of those inebriated ellipses where segments of the night's events mysteriously disappear."

I looked up my dictionary for "segue, "inebriate", "ellipse" and "segment". But sill can't grasp what the whole sentence is saying. Can someone give me some clues?

If you get very drunk, you can't remember much, of can remember fragments. I think that's what the author is trying to decribe.
