    where or which

    Hello teachers
Which one is correct , where or which in these two sentences?

1 We often go to visit our friends in Bristol, ( ) is not very far away.
2 Glasgow, ( )my brother lives, is the largest city in Scotland.

I think both are ok for these two sentences. Because both Bristol and Glasgow are places. So we can use where or which for them.

    Re: where or which

As an NES but not a teacher, I believe the only possible answers are:

    1. Which
    2. Where

    Re: where or which

Thanks, but Bristol is also a place. Why is not where used for it?

    Re: where or which

    Consider the following sentence:

Glasgow, which is where my brother lives, is the largest city in Scotland.

    Re: where or which

The clue is in your [homework?] question....."Which one is correct".
