    Question need clarifying?

    Hello,

I came across the sentence below

Some of the details need clarifying before we submit the report for approval.

I just never heard of people saying "need clarifying" before.

I heard a lot of people using "need clarification" or "need to be clarified" .

I am sure the grammar is right but the question is, do native English speaker use this often?

    Thank you in advance!
