"I just don't know what yet".

I don't really want to start working again. Most people here feel the same way. We're afraid. I just heard about another factory where there are cracks in the walls. And I know of another unsound building that's also said to belong to Mohammed Sohel Rana (the owner of the Rana Plaza building). Last week there was another factory fire and people died. Things like this happen constantly. I believe God wants to punish us for something. I just don't know what yet.

Does "I just don't know what yet" mean I donít know what is going to happen in the future, please? What made me ask you this question is that I am still not sure what yet means here. I checked it in the dictionary and found "adverb (IN THE FUTURE)".

I believe you should look at definition #2 for clarification. "Yet" here means "I still don't what what we have done and, therefore, why God is punishing us".

If you type in "yet" as a search in the dictionary search of that page, it gives you a better definition. I have no idea why this is so, but it is.

Re: "I just don't know what yet".

The use of "yet" here means that he doesn't know at the present time, but it implies that he expects to find out in the future.
