Hi!
If you book in advance you will ............. certainly have a better table at our restaurant.
A. the most
B. mostly
C. almost
D. most
The key is C, but I am wondering why A&D are incorrect, please?

If C is selected then it means that you may (no guarantee) have a better table.
If D is selected then is means that there is a guarantee that you will have a better table.
"A" is incorrect because "the" is not needed.
"B" is incorrect because of the form (mostly) of "most" is incorrect.

Unlike some other tests where one choice is possible, but another choice is better and therefore the "right" answer, I couldn't choose between the certainty of "most certainly" and the likelihood of "almost certainly" without a real context. Bad test question.

C & D are both possible. A & B are not grammatical.
