    The degree of the intensity associated with these emotions are high.

    1) The society is deeply infused with nepotism, corruption and crime. The degree of intensity associated with these mindsets are high.
    2) The degree of the intensity associated with these emotions are high.


    Can somebody help me with the above sentences. Thanks.

    For a start, change 'are' to 'is'.

    Correct them or help you out with the meaning? Degree, as Rover implied, is singular. Don't be distracted by the plurality of any other word that just happens to be nearer.

    Try again. "Society" and "degree" both take singular verbs.
