    spoken tasks to improve pronunciation

    Hi,

Can anyone recommend spoken tasks/exercises that would help to improve pronunciation of a Korean student, please?

The student's level is Upper Intermediate, very sound knowledge of grammar, but there are some phonological problems, typical for Korean learners ("p" is pronounced like "f" and "z" like "dj" or "zz" -"tch" etc.)

I did try a few card matching games and it was just too simple...

If someone could advise an exercise book, I'd be very grateful.

    Thanks.

Re: spoken tasks to improve pronunciation

American Accent Training is the best book I've ever found...
This is the link to buy it in Korea. It's also available on Amazon.
YES24 - [*]AAT American Accent Training

It also addresses a problem that Koreans have with the intonation of English.
Korean intonation is relatively flat while English has a lot of inflections and vowels sounds that are held for much longer periods of time than Korean vowels.

I can't recommend American Accent Training highly enough.

Re: spoken tasks to improve pronunciation

Thank you! Sorry, I forgot to mention that we live in New Zealand, but I guess a lot of activities in this book would be helpful regardless of which English is spoken.
English is not my native language and my own pronunciation is not a very good model for the student:)
I've just sent her the link that you kindly provided, thanks again for the information.
