I've come across these three verbs and I'm writing here because I'd like to know if I have correctly understood their meanings and their uses.
to spread out, when talking about a part of the body, is just to open it/them up...for instance, arms, legs, feet...and so on. So the verb is not used when we want to use a part of our body to take something.
to stretch out, is when we want to take something, maybe an object, which is far from us and we have to stretch a part of the body in order to reach what we want to take. Ex. She stretched her arm out to take the worksheet from her classmate.
to reach out for, is quite similar to "stretch out" and it's used when we want to reach and touch something distant from us...
Are these definitions correct or didn't I understand them...? Could you give me any examples with these three verbs where it's clear the differences about them?
Thank you all guys.
