to hold or take part in

    confer
    2) to hold or take part in a conference or consult together

    (Collins English Dictionary)

Do I see correctly that "take part in a conference" is the same as "to hold part in a conference" ?
    Thank you.

No. It is "to hold a conference or to take part in a conference".
