    Cool Colour distribution

    Hello,

I have a presentation to give. I need to explain the new colour trends and where we are going to put colours on our new chairs (back, seat, front, leg, etc.)

What can I call this? "colour distibution" ?"colour placement" ?

Thank you very much for your help.

    WIll

    not a teacher

If you are talking about the use of various colours in different combinations, the term "colourway(s)" is quite common in some areas of design. It's used particularly with fabrics and clothing, but also for interior design items like rugs and kitchen fittings. It might be a suitable term for your presentation.
For example: "For this range of chairs we have three new colourways; red and blue, red and white, and black and white".

I would use, "Color Placement", because that is what your speech will be about. In the speech you could use, "The placement of colors for our 2013 line will be as follows...". To place something is not the same as to distribute something. I can, for example, distribute the cards to all of the players in a poker game, but (being a professional gambler, and a somewhat dishonest one) I can place the winning cards in front of me.
