Does "utility" have the definition of "utilitarian" as found in a dictionary? I couldn't find such definition for "utility" except for "usefulness".
"Utilitarian" = the one that produces benefit for the greatest number of people.
18)Both self-interest and utility play important roles in organizational decisions, and the views of many business people blend these two motives. To the extent that each business pursues its own interests and each business person tries to maximize personal success, business practice can be called egoistic. But business practice is also utilitarian in that pursuing self-interest is thought to maximize the total good, and playing by the established rules of the competitive game is seen as advancing the good of society as a whole. The classical capitalist Adam Smith held such a view. He argued that if business is left to pursue its self-interest, the good of society will be served. Indeed, Smith believed that only through egoistic pursuits could the greatest economic good for the whole society be produced.
