    running water vs tap water

Do you know the difference between "running water" and "tap water"? The former seems to be related to uncivilized houses.
3)Cave houses can have electricity, running water, and even the internet..

    not a teacher

In this sort of context "running water" means water that is supplied to the dwelling by pipes, and so is usually synonymous with tap water.
