Hey guys, hope you are doing fine. I was watching a movie yesterday and in the first part a man who moved in a new city for just 1 or 2 weeks was telling her sister:" I'm really busy, I'm a doctor and can't stay here for a long time, I now havea two-hour commute to work".
I don't get the meaning of bold part, does he mean that "from here,it takes me 2 hours to go to the hospital that I work"?
Thank you in advance.
It has the same meaning it always has - it is your journey to (and from) work. So yes, it takes her two hours to get from home to work. It doesn't say she works in a hospital. It just says she's a doctor. She could work in a lot of different places. Did you check a dictionary for the noun form?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
