Despite the usage of online services

    1. Is something omitted to be an object of "download"? I think "TV programs" is too far to be an object for "download".
    2. How is "Despite the usage of online services" related to "decreased the level of social interaction? I think "Because" or "As" is more proper than "despite" as it seems like a cause-and-effect relationship.

3)The replay button does the job of a Live TV channel. Everyone nowdays can easily download or press the replay button to watch TV programs that he or she missed during the day. Despite the usage of online services, the replay button or the downloadable TV programs (on websites) have decreased the level of social interaction (between people).

Re: Despite the usage of online services

"Download" refers to "TV shows" later in the sentence. If you imagine that it reads "Nowadays, everyone can easily download (or press the replay button to watch) TV shows that he or she missed ..." that might help.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Perhaps they mean, "despite the online services which put people in contact with each other ..."

Re: Despite the usage of online services

If you don't meet with others by watching more TV, your interaction with them will diminish. So I think "due to" or "because of" is proper instead of "despite".
I still don't get what the author tried to say, and it might be the material mistake I have, typo or something.
