    IN or ON a raft?

    Hello,

Logically speaking, we are "on" a raft, aren't we? Like, "on" a boat. But I have seen "in a raft". At first I thought it was a mistake and did a google search. I was surprised to find as many hits, if not more, as "on a raft"? Is there a difference?

    Thank you.

No, there is no difference. I would use 'on', but "in a raft" can't mean anything other than "on a raft" in the right context.
