Hello Everyone,

I would like to know the meaning of "Rotate the pan halfway through the baking time." taken from Longman.
Is my understanding as follows proper?

If the required baking time is 10 minutes, according to the sentence, the pan only have to be baked for 5 minutes.

In addtion, I would like to know where the pan is put, in the microwave?

Thanks and Regards

Sky:)

The cooking instructions of any dish will tell you whether you are going to cook it in the microwave or the oven. That is irrelevant. The instruction means "At the halfway point, turn the pan round and then continue cooking". If the cooking time is 10 minutes, then after 5 minutes, you would open the oven, turn the pan round (presumably 180 degrees), close the oven door and then cook it for another 5 minutes. In my opinion though, that would be a pointless instruction if cooking in the microwave because the food rotates constantly in a microwave so there would be no point rotating the pan manually at the halfway point.
