    Misinformation

Hi, I am looking for a word that means "information that is false but was provided through lack of knowledge, not with intention to deceive". Firstly I was to use "misinformation", but then I found that it means "information intended to deceive", so this is not the word.

    Thanks in advance,
    Nyggus

    Re: Misinformation

It doesn't have to be deceitful:

Couldn't you just add that it was unintentional to clarify? I would use 'disinformation' as the one that is only intended to deceive.
