Lightbulb Why not use the passive voice?

Hi, teachers! Here is a sentence in a short story Button, Button. She felt unreal as the voice informed her of the subway accident-the shoving crowd, Arthur pushed from the platform in front of the train. Personally, in the accident, Arthur was pushed from the platform in front of the train. Is it right? If my understanding is correct, why didn't the author use the passive voice here? By the way, I don't know where is the line feed code. And the key Enter on the keyboard doesn't work here. How can you do that? And please point out my mistakes in using English if possible. Thanks in advance.

'Arthur (being) pushed from the platform...' is the passive voice.

I assume you mean the Enter key doesn't start a new line when you want it to. Is it just on this forum that it happens?

Try holding down the space bar until the cursor reaches the end of the line and start typing again.

    It's a nuisance, I know.

Thanks, anyway. So, I've got the meaning before. I just care too much on the grammer, yeah?
