    up was where

    Can one say:

    a. Up was where I was going.
    b. The place I was going was up.
    I was going up.

    c. Up is the only place I can go if I want to survive.
    d. The only place I can go if I want to survive is up. (If I go any further down I will die.)

Are these sentences acceptable in formal English?

    Many Thanks

    Re: up was where

They're not wrong, but some are a little clumsy and don't sound particularly natural.
