    infintive

    Hi,

Grammar Tip of the Day: "The reason is that" not "The reason is because"

Incorrect: Scarlett O'Hara's dirtiest trick was when she lured Frank Kennedy into marrying her.

Correct: Scarlett O'Hara's dirtiest trick was luring Frank Kennedy into marrying her.

My question: Can we replace 'luring' with to 'lure'?

Scarlett O'Hara's dirtiest trick was to lure Frank Kennedy into marrying her.

    Thanks.

    Re: infintive

Yes, we can. But you have to understand Scarlett in the context of her environs. No, you're right, she was a piece of work.
