    Punctuation and grammar

    Hello!

I want to know how to deal with the punctuation in written English:
Someone told me that those dictionaries were being sold in our shop then, but they had been already sold by the time I had come/came there.
    (which one form is right?)

Ah, where to put commas here?
    Ty

    Ty Thank you.
The use of the word "then" is unnatural in the middle of the sentence but the comma is in the right place. "Came/had come" doesn't work either.

Someone told me that those dictionaries were being sold in our shop last week/last month/yesterday, but they had all been sold already by the time I got there.

I'm not sure why it uses "our" shop. If it's your shop, you should know what it sells. Did you mean "a shop in our town" or "a local shop" perhaps?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Hi!
Thanks for checking. Maybe it's better to say "at that time" instead of "then"? In direct speech it means "now".
I think it goes "our shop" in translation.

You can only say "at that time" if, somewhere else, it's clear exactly when "at that time" is/was.

Direct translation frequently gives unacceptable results. The word "our" means "belonging to us". Unless you own/run a shop, then you shouldn't say "our shop".
