    solve

Would you please tell me if "to solve" is the correct verb to say "solve the salt in water to make a weak solution"?

    Re: solve

    Dissolve.

    You solve a problem.
You dissolve a solid in a liquid.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
