Please, would you take a look at these sentences and correct them. I am not sure if their construction is correct.

My mind was whirling with a lot of thoughts. I had a pang of guilt at having thrown my mother out of my flat, but also was angry at myself that I had resumed contact with her in the first place.

You don't really need "with a lot of thoughts". The phrase "my mind was whirling" conjures up exactly that without having to say it.
