make clear the structure of the article?

    Hi,

We know that articles are usually written in a proper order. Sometimes the orders are called threads.Suppose my students are not clear about the structure of an article and I want them to analyse it and get more clear about it themself. In other words, I want them to undertand the structure clearly in their own mind, whether I will ask them to say out their views in front of the class or not(possibly,I will not want them to explain it to me).In this case , can I instruct them by saying "please make clear the order of the article"?
    If not, will "
analyse, understand, work out or figure out" work?
    Thanks a lot!!

    not a teacher

If you want them to have a good grasp of the structure but not necessarily explain it to you or to the class, you could say: "Please work out/figure out the structure and have it clear in your own mind".

Instead of sending your thanks in a separate message, just click the Like button, please.

The reason is that it is flagged as a new post, so we think you might have a follow-up question or something to add. Those of us with slow internet connections and/or old computers have to waste valuable time waiting for it to appear.

    Thank you.
