    a-game

    Hello,

Urban Dictionary defines a-game as below:

    a-game
To do your best possible in any endeavor; not just in sports
Could you please tell me why it means that?

    Urban Dictionary: a-game

    Thank you!

    Re: a-game

It's slang. I don't think there's a "why" behind it, at least not a clear one.
Please be aware that I'm neither a native English speaker nor a teacher.

    Re: a-game

I have always assumed that it comes from the grade "A" in exams etc. If you play something so well that, if it were tested, you would be given an "A" for it, then we could say that you played your "A-game". I could be completely wrong.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

That is my sense of it also.
