Talking "formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance"

What are the simpler words for these four big words?

    Your help will be appreciated.

Re: "formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance"

bureaucracy - English Thesaurus. I guess you could do pretty much the same for the rest (just click on "English synonyms"). There are, of course, many more dictionaries available (OneLook: General dictionary sites).

PS: For bureaucracy, in the sense of all the applications and other documents needed for whatever reason, and which are/can be a pain in the back, I particularly like "red tape".
