Hello, all!
I have a question regarding the pronunciation of "singer". Invariably, dictionaries list it with the ng consonant sound, but, when you click to listen to it, you get a g! Even if subtle, it´s there. Only on Cambridge, American pronunciation, did I find the "proper" ng sound. So, my question is: how do y´all pronounce this word? Are natives "in pain" to pronounce the ng by itself? In the middle of the word, I find it very hard to pronounce, like in singer. I was wondering why most pronunciations on dictionaries hold the g? Is this how it´s spoken, commonly? I´ve also noticed that, when you have ng in words that don´t finish with ing, when you link, there´s a g sound too. For example, hang out. Am I crazy? Anyone? :-D
