I recommend you to go - is derived from? - I advise you to go - what is the origin?

It is me again!

I know that "I recommend you to go" sends shivers down your spines and you shudder at the very thought of saying this structure. I do not know the origins of the structure. Maybe I should not have been taught English from books by Polish authors. Because "recommend" is very similar in meaning to "advice", "recommend somebody to go" may have been partly borrowed from "advise somebody to go".

What do you think of that?

"I recommend that you go" is proper.
