    believe for behaviors

Can "believe" be interpreted as "believe one's words or behaviors"? I mean if "behaviors" also be included in the meaning.
Does it only focus on what one said?

    169z) I believed him.

    Re: believe for behaviors

'I believed him' means you thought his words were true.

'I believed in him' means you trusted him and could rely on his proper behaviour (or 'behavior' – singular).

    Re: believe for behaviors

Why do you think "in" as in "believe in" has more profound meaning? Can you generalize "in" in "believe in"? Sorry!!!

The best I can do, while you are waiting for our own members to comment, is to refer you to these similar threads in another forum:

    believe (in ?)
    believe in
    believe or believe in sth
    believe vs believe in
