    I read the following sentence from a grammar book written by a non-native speaker.

    Why do you do this? (=You should not do this).

    Do native speakers agree with the above?

    In accordance with the autor's example, is it weried in the following dialogue made by me?

    John: I want to lend my friend Tom ten thousand dollars.
    John's wife: Why do you do this?
    John: He is jobless and his child is sick.
