Question A lot of flowers and green

    Hi there
I went to a restaurant which had lot of flowers and green plants for decoration. Is this sentence gramatically correct?

The restaurant was decorated with a lot of flowers and greens
    Or should I go with
The restaurant was decorated with a lot of flowers and green plants.
    Thank you for your help.

Thank you. I have read somewhere usingword greens like this is OK but not sure. I hope someone can clarify if we both are right :)

No, it is not correct. "Greens" are something you would eat. You would have to add "plants" - green plants.

Perfect. Makes sense. Thank you. I was Googlin meanwhile and found I was confusing it with "decorating with green" (say a room).
    Thanks again.

Re: A lot of flowers and green

    I would definitely use "greenery".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
