Hi

Many people in the world don't know where their next meal is coming from.

Does it mean: have nothing to eat?

IMO, it means that they have no idea where the food has been imported from.

No, it doesn't. It means that they are uncertain when they will next eat and what it will be. It is a phrase indicating either they are too poor to ensure that they have all the meals that they need, or that food is scarce for some other reason.

Some contexts here.

If it had been "Many people in the world don't know when their next meal is coming.", it wouldn't have misled charlie or me.

This is where idiom bites you. Your answer was perfectly literal and quite possible. If it weren't for idiom.

Hi charli,
What do "IMO" and "PS" stand for?

IMO = In My Opinion

PS is a standard of letter writing. I means "Post Script", meaning it was added to the original message either as an aside or as an addition.

This is an oft repeated phase and can be literal in meaning. Who will provide the next meal? Where will the food and water come from? Consider the case of the people caught in the Katrina hurricane in Louisiana in 2005. The people in the impacted area seriously did not know if the city, the county, the state, the federal government, the Red Cross, or some other source would provide food and water.
