    Exclamation Need Not

    I would like to ask what are the differences between need not and no need?

    Could someone explain to me,thanks?

    "not" is an adverb and "no" is an adjective. "need not" and "no need" share similar meanings, but differ in their function. "need not" (meaning, don't have to do something) modifies a verb, whereas "no need" (meaning, there isn't a need for you to do something) functions as a nominal.

    [1] You need not follow the instructions.
    [2] There is no need (for you) to follow the instructions.
