    In 1985, scientists sent a submarine to look for the wreck of the Titanic. They found the ship lying in two pieces on the ocean floor, at a depth of around 4000 meters.

    What does "lying in two pieces" mean?

    The wreck of the Titanic was lying on the ocean floor, and it was in two separate pieces.
