    Question Usage of Dear

most of the time when we write a letter to some officer/ corporate employee / client, start with Dear Mr. .......

Is this perfect? Where & how can we use it? kindly reply for using it.

If dear is not perfect, what should we write?? kindly reply.

    Re: Usage of Dear

Please let me ask a question relating to this thread.

If "dear" is for man so what would be used for woman?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,
"Dear Ms ..." Rover was not saying that "dear" was only used for a man, but that "Dear Mr ..." is only used for a man.
"Dear Sir or Madam" if you're not sure.
"Dear ABC Building Company" is also OK, at least where I come from, if you don't know the work title of the person you're writing to. This probably works best for a small company.

    Thanks,
It would be 'Dear Ms./Mrs.', but not 'Dear Mr.' as in the OP.
