How to read numbers in organic compounds

    Hi Teachers,

I would like to ask how we should read the numbers in organic compounds such as 2,4,6-Tribromo-3-hydroxybenzoic acid.

Should the 2,4,6-Tribromo be read as two,four,six-Tribromo or something else? Thank you!

Re: How to read numbers in organic compounds

From this: Understanding the names of organic compounds, I understand it is read as you suggested.
Please be aware that I'm neither a native English speaker nor a teacher.

Yes, that is correct. And the following 3 is read as three.
