    Active Passive

    Which sentences can't we change into passive?

    Welcome to the forums, Nila thas.

    When we make a sentence passive, the object of the active sentence becomes the subject.

    'A visitor rang the doorbell' —> 'The doorbell was rung by a visitor'.

    When the verb is intransitive (it has no object) the sentence cannot be made passive.

    'The rain stopped' —> (no passive form).
