    What do people call this?

    Hi,

What do people from the U.S. and UK call the stuff which you cover your body with when you sleep?

I have looked it up and got a couple words, but don't know which is the commonly used.

    "Bedding, quilt, futon..."

Which and which are commonly used in the U.S. and UK?

    Thank you!

So does this relationship (comforter + cover = quilt ) exist?

Covers could be sheets and blankets plus or minus a comforter or quilt. I think a comforter AND quilt would be uncommon.

We don't use "comforter" in BrE at all. We sleep under a sheet, blanket, duvet, quilt, throw and sometimes in a sleeping bag.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

There's also bedspread and counterpane in BE.

A better title would have been
    'Bedding, quilt, futon...'

'Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed.'
