    Proclaimation

Could you simplify this saying, please?
"We are fighting for the fruits of our peaceful industry, for the
inheritance of a great past, and for our future."

If this is a proclamation, what is the purpose of simplification? One of the greatest proclamations of all time was the Declaration of Independence. It was neither short nor simple.

It is a speech delivered by the German Chancellor in world war I. But I didn't understand the sentence, especially "fruits of our peaceful industry" and "inheritance of a great past." So could you please help to understand this?

Ah! I didn't understand the question. The "fruits of our peaceful industry" are the many products produced by labor in peacetime. The "inheritance of a great past" is the tradition and culture that made the society what it was.
