    "granny's house"

    Hello,

Do I need to put an article or possessive before "granny's house" in the following sentences?:

The place where we usually meet is pretty near .......... granny's house, who, as you know, lives in the main street of the village.

    Thank you .

    Re: "granny's house"

The place where we usually meet is pretty near my granny's house, who, as you know, lives in the main street of the village.

    .

In the first 'granny' is an informal version of 'grandmother'. In the second, 'Granny' is the name the speaker uses for his grandmother. I think that they would be better as:

The place where we usually meet is pretty near my granny's house. As you know, she lives in the main street of the village.
