    Lightbulb It's a measure of...

    Hi,

I would like to know if it's an idiom?

It's a measure of quantity but an energy source can not be evaluated in its quantity alone.

    Thanks

What makes you think that it is not talking about literally measuring the amount of energy?

The context begins with this sentence so I surprised what does refere to that 'it"?

If "it" is used correctly, there has to be an antecedent -- something that is a measure of quantity.
