Hi all :)
I was wondering if I needed to capitalize the word nation if it came right after the name of the nation. For example would I write the French Nation or the French nation?
I have googled several combination and seem to be getting the same amount of results capitalized and not.
Thanks.

There is no need to capitalise the "n".

Thanks bhaisahab !

While searching in Google I noticed that when it came to America "the American Nation" it was almost always capitalized, but when it came to French, or Israeli, the results were split.
Do you think that this is a difference between American and British English?

'The American nation' is correct in both AE and BE.

I don't think there is a difference between AmE and BrE on this, but I may be wrong. You'll have to wait for the opinion of one of the American members.

As an AmE speaker, I would not capitalize the "n" in that phrase.

I have been through the entire list of full official country names and cannot find a single one which formally includes the word "nation". There are plenty which include "Kingdom/Republic/Dominion" etc but the only instance in which I would capitalise the word "nation" would be in "United Nations" or at the beginning of a sentence or quote.
