It's normally /ə/ for countries ending in '-land'. It can be either for 'mainland'.
The LPD gives only /ə/ for 'Maryland'; the Cambridge EPD gives both forms.

If I have the slightest doubt about whether some particular pronunciation is used, I check with these dictionaries. It would be useful in future if you rephrased your question to ask us if we agree with the LPD/EPD pronunciations, or which of their pronunciations we prefer.Apart from LPD and CPD, I still want to get more references from the native english speakers, like you.
