    Return To Respect

I am confused about two similar phrases that I composed:

1 "a return of respect for human life"
2 "a return to respect for human life"

Could the second phrase be missing something? Could it be corrected by adding a verb participle:

"a return to having respect for human life"

No, they are both right, and mean the same thing, unless the full sentence suggests some different nuance.
