This place will be the end of you

    Hi,

''This place will be the end of you''.

I have just seen this sentence in the movie 'shutter island', but I couln't understand why 'you' is used. I thought it must be ''this place will be the end of yours or ''this place will be your end''. I have been confused about differences of these three sentences.

    Thanks.

Re: This place will be the end of you

It means "It will cause your death" or at least "It will be the cause of a disastrous downfall in your life".
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

So, do my two sentences convey the same meaning?

Re: This place will be the end of you

"This place will be the end of yours" means nothing. It could only be used if preceded by something which tells us what "yours" refers to. For example "This place will be the beginning of my journey. It will be the end of yours".
"This place will be your end" is closer.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
